Imam Nadim Bashir is the Founder and President of Al-Hikmah Seminary and the Imam of the East Plano Islamic Center. He was born in Florida and moved to the DFW Metroplex at a young age. In 1989 he traveled overseas where he memorized the entire Quran by the age of 11. He began the Alim Course at Jamia Madinatul-Uloom, New Orleans as a student of Shaykh Abdur Rahman Patel. He then went overseas to study at Jamia Taalimul-Islam, Dewsbury, U.K. for several years where he received Ijaazaat in various Islamic Sceinces, including Arabic, Fiqh (Jurisprudence), Hadith, Tafseer, Tajweed, and Qira'ah. He graduated in 2003 with a Masters in Islamic Studies and has been serving Deen in the U.S. till today.
Ustadh Farzan Parupia is the Strategic Planner for Al-Hikmah Seminary. He has been the full-time Youth Director of the East Plano Islamic Center since November of 2016. He has been a member of the East Plano community since 2007. Farzan co-founded EPIC Youth in 2011 and served as its President for nearly two years. He also served as an officer of the EPIC Board of Directors from 2011-2013.
Ustadh Ekram Haque is an Advisor and Instructor for Al-Hikmah Seminary. He is a journalist and Islamic educator. He is the author of a 2016 biography of the Prophet Muhammad, entitled, Muhammad: Son of Abraham, Brother of Moses, Successor of Jesus, and a 2017 textbook for Muslim teenagers, entitled, The Radiant Lamp. He has written hundreds of articles in large and small publications, including the Dallas Morning News, News & Observer, and many others. He is keenly interested in interfaith dialogue and is a member of a DFW group called The Sons of Abraham.
Ustadha Fawzia Belal is committed to student success inside of the classroom and in life. A 2016 graduate of the 6-year Alimiyah Studies, she completed her coursework under the guidance of Dr. Mufti Yasir Nadeem, Professor of Hadith and Fiqh at the Islamic Institute of Elgin, IL, Also, during her undergraduate studies in English Literature, she has worked for the broadcast media in Doha- Qatar, where she was born and raised. Currently, she serves as the Vice Principal and Director of Islamic Studies at Qalam Collegiate Academy, the first and only all-girls school in Richardson, TX. In her 10 years of experience as an Educator, she has served as a professional development mentor, presented workshops, a mentor for her students at QCA, and taken an active role in the community. Teaching Arabic for Quranic Understanding is one of her passions. As an educator, she recognizes the potential in every student and is driven to help overcome barriers that impact their learning.
Ustadha Aminah has a B.A. in religious studies from the University of North Texas (UNT). She is a PH.D candidate at UNT in the field of environmental ethics and comparative religion. She has studied the following with Sh Akram Nadwi: 1-classical Islamic Texts (diploma), 2- diploma in contemporary Fiqh, 3- Advanced Quranic Tafseer, 4-Hadith sciences (diploma), 5- Arabic and Essential Islamic sciences. She received Ijaza from Sh. Khalil Abdur Rasheed in Islamic History, Sharia, Essentials of Dawah, Islamic jurisprudence, Aqeedah and various other Islamic sciences.
